State Funding for Schools

The proposed state budget currently under review in the Ohio legislature could have significant long-term effects on school funding. At GJPS, we are committed to advocating for a fair and equitable funding system that ensures all students receive the resources they need.

Despite receiving significantly less state funds per student than the state average, GJPS continues to provide high-quality education while carefully managing financial resources. However, recent funding proposals could further reduce state support, shifting more financial burden onto local taxpayers.

Superintendent Dr. Tracey Deagle and Treasurer/CFO Cliff Hetzel recently held a community conversation about the proposed state budget and the impacts it will have on our District's financial outlook for the next few years. Please watch the School Funding Presentation for an informative explanation of these impacts on GJPS.

For additional information on the state funding of schools and how you can support fair school funding, please view and share this printable Advocating for Fair Funding (PDF) document.

Thank you for your continued support of our students and schools!
